Days 1-2 : UK - Saigon
Fly overnight to Saigon and transfer to your hotel before your welcome dinner of local cuisine.
Day 3 : Saigon
Our sightseeing tour takes in the 19th Century Notre Dame Cathedral, the former Presidential Palace, War Remnants Museum, Cholon - Saigon’s Chinatown, the beautiful Thien Hau Pagoda dedicated to the Goddess of the Sea and the huge Binh Tay Wholesale Market. After lunch, shop at Ben Thanh Market with the rest of the day at leisure.
Days 4-5 : Saigon - My Tho - Can Tho
Explore the Mekong Delta, which is also known as the Ricebowl of Vietnam as it is covered with rice paddies and fruit plantations. Enjoy a cruise on the Mekong River, hopping off a various local markets, villages, home industries and plantations before continuing to Can Tho city for an overnight stay. We also take a boat trip to Cai Rang floating markets, selling mainly fruit and vegetables but also everything from haircuts to coffins!
Day 6 : Saigon - Tunnels - Tay Ninh
The amazing Communist guerrilla tunnel system lies in the Iron Triangle from the war days and then attend the noon service at the Cao Dai Great Temple - one of the most striking structures in Asia.
Day 7 : Saigon - Dalat
Travel to the cooler climate of the Central Highlands and the beautiful Hill Station of Dalat known as the City of Eternal Spring with its lush green forests and waterfalls.
Day 8 : Dalat
Dalat is the honeymoon capital of Vietnam and the entire area has a romantic flavour aided by the graceful design of the older buildings. Visit Lat village and market, home to numerous ethninc minorities and the Lake of Sighs.
Day 9 : Dalat - Nha Trang
Travel via the breathtaking Ngoan Muc Pass to Nha Trang, where we cruise through the islands stopping at the Tri Nguyen Aquarium, Tam Island for snorkelling and a fishing village.
Day 10 : Nha Trang - Qui Nhon
Travel to Qui Nohon and stop en-route at the Cham Po Nagar Towers. These ruins date from the Hindu Kingdom of Champa which ruled from the 2nd to 15th Centuries.
Days 11-13 : Qui Nhon -Hoi An
Stop off at Son My to pay homage to the victims of the My Lai massacre before arriving in ancient Hoi An. With it's mixture of Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and French architecture, the city is a former trading port and features the most unique architecture in South East Asia and has been restored and protected by UNESCO. Take time today to visit the city’s famous tailors and collect tomorrow! Enjoy a walking tour the next day and look for the many houses that display an eye formed from the Chinese Ying-Yang symbol. Also visit the traditional market, Quan Cong Chinese Temple, Japanese Bridge and visit one of the oldest homes still occupied by the descendants of the merchants that built it over 200 years ago. The following day is at leisure.
Day 14 : Hoi An - Hue
Visit the Marble Mountains and China Beach before crossing the spectacular Hai Van Pass to the imperial capital of Hue. Enjoy a cyclo tour to the Citadel, which was inspired by Beijing’s Forbidden City and visit Thien Mu Pagoda before a relaxing boat trip on the Perfume River. Take part in a cooking class tonight focusing on local dishes for the Royal Courts.
Day 15 : Hue - Hanoi
Explore the tombs of Tu Doc and Khai Dinh before flying to Hanoi. The rest of the day is at leisure in Hanoi which, with its lakes, parks and boulevards is styled the Paris of the Orient. Enjoy a performance of the famous Water Puppets tonight.
Day 16 : Hanoi - Halong Bay
Cruise Halong Bay the 'Jewel in the Crown' of Vietnam. Enjoy spectacular scenery and a seafood meal onboard before driving back to Hanoi through the striking rural countryside of the Red River Delta.
Day 17 : Hanoi
Today, tour Ho Chi Minh Quarter, including his Mausoleum, House of Stilts, One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature. Also drive around Hoan Kiem Lake before a walking tour of the Old Quarter and Markets.
Day 18 : Hanoi - UK
Trasnfer to the airport and fly back to the UK, arriving home later the same day filled with many happy memories.
