Ripley's Believe it or Not Odditorium
Situated on Orlando's International Drive Ripley's Believe it or not Odditorium is built to appear as if the building is sinking into the ground. The museum has strange artifacts from around the world collected by Robert Ripley during the 1920s, there are many different sections in the museum including artifacts from Africa, Egypt, China and Japan, there is also a horror section in the museum where guests can learn about vampires and headhunters. The artwork section specialises in bizarre works of art including a picture of the Mona Lisa made from various shades of toasted bread, there are also many other sections in the museum to be explored.
The Orlando Museum of Art
The Orlando Museum of Art was established in 1924 encouraging the local community's interest in the arts, the museum has a fantastic collection of exhibits including the permanent exhibits of the works of America art, African art and art of the ancient Americas. The American art exhibit features 19th and early 20th century art as well as contemporary pieces; the African collection features pieces from throughout the African continent and art of ancient Americas exhibit features jewellery and pottery from Central and South America as well as pre-Columbian art. There are many rotating temporary exhibits in the museum as well as national travelling exhibits.
The Kennedy Space Center
The Kennedy Space Center is located in Cape Canaveral just 45 minutes outside of Orlando; the space centre is a place of discovery and technology and is situated on a large island wildlife refuge, which is eight times the size of Manhattan. Visitors can tour the NASA space shuttle launch and landing facilities, experience interactive simulators as well as meet a real life astronaut. The visitor complex is where visitors can spend the day exploring the exhibits and shows, the rocket garden is where there are genuine rockets on display from every space exploration era, visitors can also pay respects to the fallen heroes of space exploration history at the glass-structure Astronaut Memorial. The Astronauts hall of fame exhibit is dedicated to famous astronauts, the Astronaut adventure room has interactive exhibits where visitors can experience walking on the moon as well as four times the force of gravity in the G-Force Trainer as well as riding a rover over Martian terrain, and coordinating a Space Shuttle landing.
