Shopping in Memphis is vast and varied with all kinds of shopping venues from discount stores to outlet malls and unique boutique stores, and of course plenty of shops with Elvis memorabilia as well as kitschy souvenirs. The Cooper-Young and Central Avenue districts are great for antique and vintage furniture stores, there are also many stores selling handmade gifts as well as speciality cigars, tobacco and pipes; there are also many music stores on Beale Street as well as music memorabilia stores.
Restaurants
Memphis has a great range of different restaurants and cafes and the diversity of the dining reflects the culture of the city. With every kind of restaurant from steakhouses to japanese there will be something to suit everyones tastes. The real favourite of Memphis is Barbeque and the city is nicknamed the "Pork Barbeque Capital of the World", there are many barbeque places on Beale Street open until the early hours specialising in ribs, pork chops and fried chicken.
