Las Vegas is famous for its gambling and world-class casinos, the opportunity to gamble is everywhere in Las Vegas including the airport and supermarket. The Las Vegas strip is around 4 miles long and is home to some of the largest casinos in the world. Some of the most famous casinos are the Bellagio, Caesars Palace and the Hard Rock Casino. The first casino in Las Vegas was the Pair-o-Dice Club and was opened in 1931; the first casino on the Las Vegas strip was El Rancho Vegas opened in 1941.
There are some outstanding shows and entertainment in Las Vegas, visit the Bellagio hotel fountains, which are set in a nine-acre man made lake where there are choreographed water performances to music held every half hour. Cirque du Soleil at the Treasure Island hotel and the Bellagio hotel is a spectacular stage show featuring singers, dancers and champion calibre acrobats and musicians. The Venetian hotel is famous for its canal running through the hotel and casino where visitors can take a gondola ride through the canals. The observation deck of the Eiffel Tower in Paris Las Vegas has breathtaking views of the Strip and the Bellagio fountains.
As well as entertainment and shows in the hotels there are also many museums, some of these include; the Guinness world records Museum, Madame Tussauds Waxwork Museum, the Liberace Museum and the Elvis-a-rama Museum.
