Fenway ParkFenway Park is the home of the Boston Red Sox baseball team, the park has remained the same as it was back in 1912 when it first opened and captures the golden era of Baseball; the park has the country's only hand operated scoreboard which is still in use today, there is also a seat painted red in the right-field bleachers which marks the longest measured home run in the park and there are tours of the park which are held both on and off season.
The New England Aquarium
The New England Aquarium attracts over 1.3 million visitors every year and has over 8000 species of marine life, the 4 storey glass tank alone has species of coral reef, fish, sea turtles and sharks, the viewing platform spirals round the tank giving a 360º view. In the main aquarium there are varieties of fish, small sharks and a giant sea turtle, there are also many smaller tanks on each floor for leisurely viewing. The IMAX theatre has showings of animals and habitats that are too big, rare or dangerous for the aquarium. From April to October visitors can Whale Watch, the catamaran takes guest to the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary; the only whale feeding sanctuary in America.
The Museum of Fine Arts
The Museum of Fine Arts has over 450,000 works of art and exhibits and attracts more than one million visitors each year, it is the largest museum in the United States and was founded in 1870 and opened in 1876. Some of the exhibits include Egyptian artifacts including jewellery, sculptures and sarcophagi, 5000 pieces of Japanese pottery plus French impressionist and post-impressionist works.
