Phuket has a wide variety of beaches to suit everyone; with over 540-square-km of coastline there are plenty of vast stretches of white sandy beaches with crystal clear waters to sit back, relax and take in the scenery.
North beaches
The northern part of Phuket is less developed than the southern parts, it is the perfect place to enjoy the quieter beaches away from the hustle and bustle. Mai Khao beach is five and a half miles long and is the largest beach in Phuket, the unspoilt white sand is protected by the Nai Yang National Park and is free from tourist resorts and major development.
South Beaches
The Southern part of Phuket has 10 significant beaches but only two are suitable for bathing and the region is sheltered from the harsh seas of the rainy season. Visitors are attracted to the southern region for the walks, beautiful scenery and eating-places as well as being the best place to see some of the most stunning sunsets in the world. Many of Phuket's best restaurants and hotels are located in the southern region as well as some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
