Koh Samui is the third largest island resort in Thailand; the island was once a backpacker’s hideout but in recent years has grown into one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Koh Samui is the perfect destination for a relaxing holiday, with endless stretches of white sandy beaches and crystal clear water as well as the laid back atmosphere.

Koh Samui has some of the most popular beaches in the world, Chaweng Beach is situated on the east coast of the island and is one of the most popular, with a range of accommodation from beach bungalows to five star luxury resorts dotted between the palm trees it has something to suit everyone. Limai Beach is situated on the south east coast of the island and is the second most popular beach as well as being a lot quieter. Some of the beaches in Koh Samui are secluded including Taling Ngam Beach and Bang Po Bay, which are quiet coves away from the crowds; these beaches have some of the best coral reefs perfect for snorkelling.

The climate in Koh Samui is tropical throughout the year with very little variation; the peak tourist season is from December to August when temperatures remain between 28ºC and 32ºC. The rainy season is from September to November when the weather is cooler with afternoon showers.
