Carnival

The carnival in Brazil is an annual celebration held 40 days before Easter to mark the beginning of lent. Each city in Brazil celebrates in a different way and the best of the best are held in Rio de Janeiro when the focus of the parade is on the samba schools which have extravagant floats, fantastic costumes, brilliant music and energetic dancers. At the end of the parade the samba schools perform in the street in front of judges and spectators, also during carnival season there are street parties and all night long costume balls held in the top hotels.
