Rio De Janeiro overview

Rio de Janeiro is the second largest city in Brazil and is famous for its breathtaking scenery, annual carnival and laidback beach culture, the city is blessed with stunning natural beauty including the peaks of Sugar Loaf and Corcovado with the famous statue of Christ at the top.  In the city below, the people of Rio de Janeiro are well known for their welcoming and fun loving attitude as well as being hard working making this one of the most economically important cities in the world. The annual Rio Carnival is held usually in February during the high season where people take to the streets dancing, singing and celebrating, this is the busiest time of the year when the city is at full capacity.

The climate in Rio de Janeiro is tropical and hot; the summer temperature can reach between 25ºC to 40ºC and lasts from December to March, winter is from May to October.
