Dubai offers visitors a wide range of sightseeing opportunities from historic sites and traditional houses to sand dunes and man made islands. Most of the major sightseeing spots are situated in Bar Dubai and Deira separated by the Dubai Creek, which is also a popular attraction. Some of the attractions include the Burj al Arab hotel the only 7 star hotel in the world as well as being the tallest, the man made palm islands are constructed from sand taken from the bottom of the ocean and are the largest artificial islands in the world.
The Bastakiya District is an old residential area situated along the Dubai Creek in Bur Dubai, well known for its architecture dating back centuries and with its narrow streets and old wind towers it is a popular district with visitors. The Bastakiya District has a museum, art gallery, cultural centre as well as restaurants and local traditional markets.
Dubai museum is located in the Al Fahidi Fort built in 1787; the museum depicts everyday life of centuries gone by and displays galleries and artifacts of that time. The museum focuses on the history of Dubai and its traditional homes, trade, pearl diving and mosques as well as historical weapons and instruments.
