Borneo overview

Borneo is the third largest island in the world and is situated in South East Asia, the island is split into three regions; Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei.  The three different regions make up a tropical paradise with long stretches of white sandy beaches and the oldest bio diverse rainforest in the world.

Borneo is the only country in the world where visitors can still see orang-utans in their natural habitat plus freshwater dolphins in the river which swim alongside the boats; the rainforest is also home to the Dayak tribes which were once feared as head hunters. Guided Trekking and River Rafting are popular activities plus mountain climbing and safaris.

For visitors who want a relaxing holiday Batu Payung beach in the west of Kalimantan has endless white sandy beaches, there are also many water sports activites available.  The climate in Borneo is tropical with sun all year round, the rainfall is between November and January and the dry season is from May to September.
