Beaches

The first thing that comes to mind when talking about the Maldives is the endless stretches of beautiful beach.  There are 87 island resorts in the Maldives and each of the beaches has a tranquil and relaxed atmosphere as well as a perfect climate.  

Some of the best beaches in the Maldives are situated on the island of Nalaguraidhoo nicknamed Sun Island, the beaches on this island are powder white and have a grand lagoon perfect for water activities including snorkelling, scuba diving and canoeing.  The barrier reef is close enough to swim and the crystal clear water lets visitors see the myriad of colourful fish and sea life.  Veligandu Island is situated just 700km south of Sri Lanka and has one of the best beaches and resorts in the Maldives, the sand on the beach is the cleanest and just offshore the stunning coral reef is full of colourful fish.  The resorts on each of the islands have entertainment and activities from luxury spas to water sports and land activities as well as fantastic food and nightly entertainment.
