Days 1-2: UK - Shanghai
Fly to Shanghai with Emirates where we will be greeted by our National Tour Captain and stay for 2 nights.
Days 3-4: Shanghai
See Shanghai with sightseeing tours of the beautiful Yu Gardens, Old Town and the famous Bund, also visit the restored area of Xintiandi and its 1920’s style “Shikumen” buildings. In the evening enjoy a stunning Huangpu River Cruise. The next day, enjoy the morning at leisure before transferring to the Victoria Prince Cruise Ship, sailing from Shanghai to Chongqing.
Day 5: Nanjing
Enjoy a full day tour of former imperial capital Nanjing. Return to our ship and continue our cruise up the Yangtze River.
Day 6: Mt Huang
Today’s program includes a shore excursion to Mt Huang, otherwise known as Yellow Mountain.
Day 7:Wuhan
Cruise to Wuhan and take an excursion to the Hubei Provincial Museum and other sights.
Days 8-9: Yichang
Continue cruising upstream toward Yichang, arriving the following day.We visit the Three Gorges Dam and then sail through the Gezhou Dam.
Day 10: Daning River Small Gorges
Sail through Wu Gorge and take an excursion to the Daning River Small Gorges.
Day 11: Fengdu
Arrive early at Fengdu and take an excursion to the “Ghost City”.
Days 12-13: Chengdu - Xian
Visit the famous Panda Reserve in Chengdu. Later take a flight to Xian for a two night stay where tasty Shui Jiao cuisine awaits us. The next day we visit the most important archaeological discovery of the 20th Century, the Terracotta Warriors, followed by the ancient City Wall. Complete the day with a performance of Tang Dynasty dancing.
Days 14-17: Xian - Beijing
Fly to Beijing for 3 nights.We will have a chance to see the unique Temple of Heaven and in the evening enjoy a sample of the local delicacy, ‘Peking Duck’. Next day will include the Forbidden City, the largest and best preserved collection of ancient buildings in China, and a stroll through Tiananmen Square, past Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum.We later enjoy an evening Chinese Acrobatic Show.The following day will be spent visiting the Great Wall and the exquisite Summer Palace.
Days 18-19: Beijing - UK
Fly home to the UK arriving the following day filled with many happy memories.
