St Lucia has over 19,000 acres of lush green rainforest sprawling over valleys and mountains from one end of the island to the other; the rainforest is home to a wide variety of rare species of animals and birds as well as exotic flowers and plants.
The Edmund Forest Reserve on the west side of the island offers visitors the opportunity to trek through, the reserve has fantastic views of the mountains, the valleys and the ocean. The forest reserve has some of the most pristine natural beauty and along the trail visitors will see rare species of plants and exotic flowers as well as St Lucia’s national bird, the Amazona Versicolor parrot and other species of wildlife.
There are many nature treks for visitors to choose from and each have something different from beginner to intermediate. Some of the nature treks have stunning panoramic views of certain parts of the island from four lookout points as well as spectacular view over the island and the ocean.
