Local dishes in Jamaica include rice and red kidney beans cooked with coconut milk, sweet potatoes and grilled lobster. There are also many Chinese and Indian foods in Jamaica as well as top class restaurants serving worldwide cuisine.

There are many places to shop in Jamaica and visitors can take part in the local tradition of bargaining, for visitors looking for a bargain Jamaica's markets are the perfect place to go. There are many things to buy in Jamaica from local crafts including wood carvings, hand made fabrics, hats and baskets, another popular souvenir to buy is Jamaican rum and Blue Mountain coffee. Duty free items are also popular purchases, which include brand name perfumes and watches as well as leather products.
