Barbados is an island in the Caribbean situated just off the coast of Venezuela, the islands capital city is Bridgetown and is home to half the population. Bridgetown has some fantastic cultural and historical sights and is a well-known port call for many of the cruise lines; the island is popular amongst tourists for its duty free shopping.

The coastline of Barbados is a 20-mile stretch of pristine beaches and crystal clear turquoise waters as well as being surrounded by coral reefs. The island offers visitors plenty to do from relaxing on the beach to sightseeing and watersports.

The climate in Barbados is tropical with 340 days of sunshine per year, the dry season last between January and June and the hurricane season is from June to October; hurricanes usually miss Barbados and instead the island receives short but heavy tropical rainstorms.
