CN TowerThere are many things to see and do in Toronto; the CN Tower is the world's tallest freestanding building at 1,815 feet high and is worth visiting on a clear day. There are six glass-fronted elevators on the outside of the building that travel at around 20 feet per second to the top of the tower and the four observation decks. At the top there is a glass floor level 1,122 feet above the ground and is one of the most photographed indoor locations in the city.
Toronto Zoo
The Toronto Zoo is situated in the North East of Toronto, Ontario and first opened in 1974 when it was originally named The Metropolitan Toronto Zoo. The zoo is spread over 710 acres and is the third largest in the world, it is divided into six different regions, Africa, the Americas, Indo-Malaya, Eurasia, the Canadian Domain and Australasia with animals from each region. There are over 5000 animals in the zoo that represent more than 450 species; the animals are housed in natural habitats outdoors as well as tropical environments indoors.
Exhibition Place
Exhibition Place is located on the Toronto Shore of Lake Ontario and is a mixed-use property featuring theatre and music venues, parkland, national historic sites and sports facilities. There are many events held throughout the year but the busiest and most famous time is during the Canadian National Exhibition, which is the summer fair held annually. Each year there are many trade and consumer shows held as well as over 100 special events including The Royal Agricultural Fair, the Molson Indy Car Race, Caribana Parade, The Toronto International boat show plus many others. More than 4.5 million people visit Exhibition Place each year.
Kensington Market
Kensington Market is a multicultural district in Downtown Toronto; it is one of the city's most famous and oldest neighbourhoods as well as recently becoming a national historic site. The area has many different food shops specialising in all kinds of food including meats, fish and fresh produce as well as several cheese shops and vintage clothing shops. Every Sunday of each month the market hosts special events on the closed street that can include street theatre, live music, dancing and games. The art community produces Kensington Markets annual festival the Kensington Market Festival of Lights each year when the lively carnival of fire breathers, stilt walkers, giant puppets and samba dancing takes place between Kensington Market and Bellevue Square Park during winter in December.
