Hockey Hall of FameThe Hockey Hall of Fame is dedicated to Canada's national sport ice hockey. The museum has many exhibits displaying memorabilia, trophies and equipment worn by the players. The MCI Great hall within the museum has been nicknamed "the cathedral to the icons of hockey" where there are many displays and exhibits of the greatest players honoured by the hall of fame; the exhibit includes biographies and portraits of each player.
The Art Gallery of Ontario
The Art Gallery of Ontario is situated on the eastern edge of the Chinatown district in Toronto. The gallery was established in 1900 and has a collection of over 68,000 works of art dating from the 1st century to present day. There is a vast collection of Canadian art featured in the gallery depicting Canada's heritage as well as many works of European art by some of the most famous artists in the world including Vincent Van Gogh and Pablo Picasso. The gallery also has the largest collection of African art in North America as well as a collection of contemporary art works by Andy Warhol and other well-known artists. The art Gallery is also home to the Henry Moore Sculpture Centre where there is the largest public collection in the world of the British artists' work.
Ontario Science Centre
The Ontario Science Centre is situated north east of downtown Toronto which is the heart of the city. The Science Centre opened in 1969 and features several hundred exhibits and interactive exhibits on everything associated with science and nature including geology, astronomy, the science of nature, human anatomy, communication and technology. The Science Centre features many special events that run beyond regular opening hours and Teluscape is the outdoor exhibit that is open 24 hours a day.
Royal Ontario Museum
The Royal Ontario Museum was established in 1912 and is a major museum for natural history as well as world culture. The museum is the fifth largest in North America and the largest in Canada featuring over six million items across 40 galleries; the notable and most popular exhibits include the Dinosaurs, African and Near Eastern art and Canadian history.
